Summary Of "One Indian Girl"

"One Indian Girl" is a story of a sweet Punjabi girl Radhika Malhotra who lives in Delhi. Radhika was studious, and despite being a topper in her class, she was unpopular due to her dark complexion.

On the other hand, her elder sister Aditi was just opposite as of Radhika. She was popular and fair too. Aditi gets married to a rich Guy in Delhi soon.

RADHIKA did her graduation from Sri Ram College of Commerce. She also did an MBA from, IIM in AHMEDABAD.

From here she got a job in Goldmansatch company in New York, with a package of 48 lakhs per annum. This stressed her mother, as she was worried about how she will find a suitable groom for her.

In New York, RADHIKA became friends with some Indian co-workers. One of them was Debasis Sen (Debu), who works for an advertising agency.

Both of them become friends. And one-day Debasish asks Radhika to go on a date, RADHIKA agrees and they both go out. They enjoy a lot and eat some Indian food. After that, they walk into the hotel where RADHIKA stays, and on the first day, they both get physical and have sex.

After that Debasish shift in with Radhika, and they both started a live-in relationship. Because RADHIKA earns much more money than Debasish, he always gets jealous over this.

A year passed away like this when Radhika decided to decide a plan for the future to which Deabasis was skeptical. Moreover, When Radhika earns a bonus of Rs 150000 dollars and tells Debu, he did not react as Radhika expected.

Radhika wants to get married to Debu, to which Debu said that he always wanted to marry a normal Indian girl, who will be just a housewife.

And that evening they break up. One month later Radhika decides to quits her job and proposed Debasis. One evening, RADHIKA decides to go to the Debasis`s flat with some chocolates And there she found Debasis with some another Girl which upsets her very much.

RADHIKA then transfers herself to Hong Kong, where she was meet Neil Gupta who was a partner at Goldman Sachs, Neil was her boss's boss.

Neil was 20 years older than Radhika. He was also tall and handsome. One day Neil and Radhika went on a business trip to sign a deal with a resort owner. After the celebration party, they both slept together.

Though Neil was married and has two kids they continue with their passionate affair whenever they go on a business trip together and enjoyed a lot.

About a year passes away like these when Radhika comes to her senses and decided to resign from Goldman Satch as she sees no future in relation to Neil. But then Neil suggests her not to leave the company rather she could leave him. Thus Neil arranges Radika`s transfer to the London office.

At London RADHIKA`S mother also shifted with her who always use to ask Radhika for an arranged marriage. One day shy finally agrees and decided to get register with SHAADI.com. Where she finds Brijesh Galati, who is an engineer at Face book and she says yes for the wedding which makes her mother happy.

Destination marriage was a childhood dream of Radhika. So she chooses Marriot hotel Goa for her as her marriage venue, which cost her Rupees 150000 USD.

It was the time when Radhika was arranging for the pre-wedding functions at the Marriot Hotel in Goa. She received text messages from Debasis who wanted to meet her but she refused.

Debasis arrived at the Resort in Goa where the Marriage was going on. He meets Radhika and said that he has just now realized that he made a big mistake by dumping her. Now he is ready to marry her and proposed a plan to leave the groom at the wedding night. Radhika, who is now not interested in Debu makes him understand the situation and tells him to leave her alone.

When Radhika was busy at the Mehendi Ceremony, she gets a call from Neil. Neil was in Sri Lanka and he was now a divorcee, he was shocked to listen about the news of Radhika's marriage.  

As she couldn't pick up the call because her hands were full of henna. Neel decides to meet Radhika at the Marriot Hotel Goa. So he took a charted flight and comes to Goa. Neil also asked Radhika to stay with him and he will take care of all expenses, made in the marriage.

Radhika was confused, whether she should marry a person like Debu,  Neil who is a rich guy or do an arranged marriage. The next morning Radhika called both her ex-boyfriend and tells both of them to leave her life forever.

She also meets Brijesh to cancel the wedding and tells him all about her ex-boyfriend. Though all this incident was okay to Brijesh and he still wants to marry Radhika.

But Radhika now wants to cancel the wedding. And was ready to bear all the expenses made in the marriage herself. She apologizes to everyone and went out to travel and discover herself.

After a few months, she meets Brijesh in Sanfransico had coffee together, and went to a concert. And Radhika helps Brijesh to open a Startup Company.
