This novel is the third best selling book by CHETAN BHAGAT. The novel says the story of 3 friends of Ahmedabad city at Gujrat in Western India.

The movie has been made based on the novel, directed by Abhishek Kapoor starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Amit Sadh & Rajkumar Rao. It was released in February 2013. The film and the book are set in the state of Gujarat in India. The film is named as "Kai Po Che!"

BEFORE THE STORY BEGINS.


THE story in the novel starts when on a fine Saturday morning the author receives a suicide note on his email. The mail was address to him only.

A businessman from Ahmedabad sends this mail and his name was G.Patel. He writes that he has done 3 serious mistakes in his life and hence he decides to end his life. Thus he is taking one sleeping peel at the end of each sentence he is writing in that mail. Being a reader of his books he felt to write this to him before his life ends.

Chetan Bhagat broke into cold sweats reading this mail because there are 19 sentences in the mail that means he has pooped 19 peels in total.

The author was terrified of reading this mail. So he decides to call Prof Basant of IIM Ahmedabad, where he was a student years ago. Prof Basant helped to find the full name of G.patel through Orkut. His full name was Govind Patel. A Student of the Prof finds him in a civil hospital of Ahmedabad, being treated for an overdose of sleeping peels.

The author takes the next flight to Ahmedabad and meets the boy in the hospital. where the guy says the actual story of his 3 mistakes in his life.

THE SUMMARY OF "THE 3 MISTAKES OF MY LIFE".


In "The 3 Mistakes Of My Life", Govind, Ishan, and Omi were tree friends from Ahmedabad. Where Ishan was good at cricket and wants to join the Indian Cricket team but unfortunately did not get the chance.

Govind was good in mathematics but due to financial crisis could not join an Engineering college. And Omi has no goal and plan for futures. Though his father was a priest in a temple but he shows lest interest in that.

Govind says in the story how they decided to open a sports shop. How Omi helps them to get a shop in the temple on rent. And even how Ishan used to give tips on Cricket to the customers comes to their shops. And how his ideas help then to grow their business.

"THE THREE MISTAKES"


Govind described the Three mistakes he did in his life for which he tried to end his life. He tells how he invested all his and his friends saving to rent a shop in a shopping mall to expand the business. Though his friend tried to stop him, and which was destroyed in an earthquake that came in Gujrat.

This was his first mistake to invest all his and his friend's money in a single project. He also described how he fell in love with Ishan's sister and had how they went into a physical relationship which was his second mistake to fall in love with his best friend's sister. and described the riot that broke in Gujrat, where his friend Omi died.

He says about how Ali was badly injured when a Trishul was thrown to kill him. And how for his selfishness he did not dive to save Ali on time for which Ali was badly injured. This was his third mistake to become selfish for which someone was badly injured.
