"2 STATES: THE STORY OF MY MARRIAGE" is an autobiography of the author and his wife with the only name changed. The story is about Krish and Ananya, who belongs from two different states of India.

Krish is a Punjabi boy from Delhi and Ananya is from Chennai of Tamilnadu. Krish meets Ananya when she was quarreling with mess stuff about the food in the dinning of IIM Ahmedabad.

Both the boy and girl came here to pursue M.B.A, where Ananya was tagged as the best girl of freshers batch. They both became friends within a few days, they fell in love with each other before they graduate.

After graduation, they got good jobs and they decide to get married seriously.

At first, Krish tries to convince Ananya's parents. He gave her brother IIT tuitions, helped her father to create a PowerPoint presentation for his office. He also arranged to fulfill her mother's biggest dream of singing at a concert. All these pleased Ananya`s family and they convinced their marriage.

Now they will have to convince Krish Family. This was also not easy because of Krish's mom`s family who want Krish to marry a Tamilian.

When Ananya negotiates a situation and helped one of Krish Cousin's to get married, Krish`s family starts liking the relationship. Now they have convinced both the family.

They decided on a trip to Goa so that their family could know each other. But this ends too badly. Because Ananya's parents had a fight with Krish's mother.

After this, they both left each other deciding that their parents can never get along with each other. Krish returns to his home town and becomes a workaholic due to depression.

Through the story, Krish did not have a good relationship with his father and nor he showed a close bond with him. But a last his father flew to Chennai secretly and meets Ananya`s parents and convinced them successfully.

And thus father and son reconcile and the novel ends when the couple gave birth to twin baby boy after the marriage.
